Chubby girl tries not to eat too much

Not one, not two, but a long string of celebrations takes place this week, starting last night with a mom-created potluck while putting together flower arrangements for tonight’s high school graduation for our moppets, continuing through a lovely catered event tonight, a brief break on Thursday, followed by a birthday dinner Friday (I’m hosting), family outing with some extended fam on Friday, Sunday brunch (again, me make) and then more family fun with people who don’t diet.

But People, I’m gonna try. Last night I did eat too much, in the service of having a really nice time, but not “ew” too much. Just more pasta than I should have. Tonight I have a mental food plan, and the first part of the day has been spot-on. Friday, with the cake, will be tough, but if I can get through that, I can glide through the rest. “Fruit, vegetables and poultry.” That’s my mantra at these things.

Last week’s weigh-in was great news and was followed by my allowing myself to wear a pair of slightly tight jeans to work yesterday, and dammit, I’m not letting this week’s take that away from me. After that, I’ve got smooth sailing for a good long while in the Goodies in Front of Me department.

Good for you! My husband and I are heading to the beach for a few days tomorrow and I’m trying to think ahead too. My plan is to keep things in check by packing my snacks (cut veggies, nuts, fruit, etc) in a cooler, but still letting myself have some things that would normally be off limits. I don’t even want to think of a beach trip without clam chowder! Then, hopefully I’ll be burning the cals with lots of beach walking. Two fingers crossed! :)
